SURE 2012 Program
Posted by: Michael Seufer
Shell Oil has generously funded the Shell Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program for the past 4 years. With an increase in the size of their gift this year, the 2012 SURE program can support as many as 15 undergraduate students doing a paid research internship on campus during the Summer of 2012. All research projects will be conducted under the direction of a faculty member in the School of Earth Sciences. The SURE projects in previous years have led to senior theses for students. This is a great opportunity for first year students to get involved in research. Another incentive is that due to this upcoming odd, short summer, students going to field camp will be unable to participate in 2012.
The SURE program will take place June 18 to August 10, 2012. Students will receive $3000 for the 7 week program. Please contact Dr. Anne Carey (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are interested in participating. She can direct you to the professors who have projects for students.
