Software

Gphyz

Gphyz is a software program written in IDL language that was created to analyze Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) data.  Gphyz is a GPR 2D/3D display and interpretation package.  It accepts inputs from sensors and software, GSSI, and SEGY file formats.

IDL or IDL VM is needed to use this software.  IDL VM is a free download at http://www.ittvis.com/idlvm/ .  See tutorial for instructions.  The Gphyz button is a zip file download.  Save it and extract the files into your C drive.

Madagascar

Madagascar is an open-source software package for data processing and numerical experiments.  It contains numerous programs that are useful for seismic modeling and processing.  For more information visit: http://www.reproducibility.org/wiki/Main_Page

We needed a 3D seismic modeling package at OSU to compliment our 3D EM modeling software. Madagascar is a freeware package that is readily available. The first challenge was to make the package usable and accessible. Having done this, we decided to post the instructions for others use. The download below is a very terse outline of a “how to run” Madagascar models and a video demonstration.
